ATHEISTS GROUP BILLBOARD VANDALIZED  Charlotte Observer 6/29/2010

Referenced through an article Written by Tim Funk  tfunk@charlotteobserver.com

The article was written because of a Billboard Advertisement that was erected up on the streets of Charlotte, NC recently.

The Billboard stated "One Nation Indivisible"

The billboard campaign cost $15,000 and is sponsored by the North Carolina Secular Association.

Evidently that didn't sit well with someone or ones, who climbed up on the billboard and spray painted the words Under God,  just before Indivisble. Of course the Atheist Group and the Police are referring to the individuals who corrected the mistake as Vandals. I prefer to relate to them as Proof Readers. It was so obvious that a mistake had occurred and a simple correction had to be performed. No charge was expected. It was done as a lobor of LOVE so to speak. But non the less, there is a plan by the Atheists to erect another billboard advertisement referring to the original language.

I am working to have a posted picture of the news article on this page. The reason I am using this article as an object of interest is

because of the last line in the last sentence that Mr Funk wrote. And how so true he was to have written it!

I will quote his last paragraph in full, so as not to degrade its' meaning in any way.

" The Pledge of Allegiance was written in 1892 by a Baptist minister. But it included no religious language until "under God" was inserted by an act of Congress at the height of the Cold war. The addition was meant to distinguish the United States from the Soviet Union, which officially embraced atheism."   End of article:

Global Mobile Connections' summarization:

Please allow me to underline a particular word phrase that is used in the last paragraph  "from the Soviet Union, which embraced atheism" Oh how wise Mr. Funk was to state it so true. Thank You Mr. Funk for reminding us of that important aspect. I also want to remind you that the Soviet Union fell!!
